  • Easter Hat Parade

    What a fabulous range of Easter hats this year! We took part in the parade and celebrated a winner from each class. Well done to Daisy-Rae from Mary Anning Class!

  • A Walk to the Church

    This week we walked to the local church in Eastwood. There we explored the features inside it and listened to the story of Easter.

  • Measuring Length and Height

    We have been learning to measure the length and height of objects. We can use the vocabulary taller, longer and shorter correctly. We can measure objects using non-standard units such as in cubes or paper clips and we can measure in standard units (centimeters).

    In Science we have started to investigate our five senses (smell, touch, taste, see, hear). Today, you can go on a senses hunt and record something you have sensed in each category by drawing and writing what it is.

    In our punctuation lessons we have been learning to use capital letters for names and places. Can you complete the sentences by including capital letters for names?

    In phonics we have been learning the alternative spellings for the ‘air’ sounds. They include ‘air’ ere’ ‘eir’ ‘are’ ‘ayer’ and ‘ear’. Read the text and highlight any words using a spelling of ‘air’.

  • Maths 10.03.23

    We have been learning about length and height using the vocabulary longer, shorter and taller. We have been measuring the length of objects using cubes and paper clips. In today’s lesson we need to look closely at the object, count the objects used to measure it and write the length of the object.

  • Palm Sunday

    In RE we are looking closely at each day within the Easter story. We started with Palm Sunday. We listened carefully to the story, made palm leaves and role played shouting ‘Hosanna!’ as Jesus rode his donkey into the town.

  • Partitioning

    We are learning the place value of numbers within 50. Here we are partitioning numbers into tens and ones using the base 10 equipment and part whole models.
